Dead or Alive Slot Machine Review
Based on Billy the Kid and Jesse James, the Dead or Alive slot machine aims to pull you back into the American Old West. We must say, NetEnt has done a fantastic job with this machine too!
How to Play Dead or Alive Slot
The Dead or Alive slot machine is a 5 reel, 9 payline slot machine from NetEnt. The minimum bet per spin is 9p and the maximum bet is £18.00. This makes the machine perfect for those who prefer to play with lower stakes but still want access to some huge wins. In fact, the potential for huge wins is why this slot machine is considered a classic among slot machine enthusiasts.
This game is, thankfully, rather easy to understand. We see the Dead or Alive slot machine as an ideal starting point for those venturing into the world of mobile slots for the first time.
The game is based around some of the most notorious outlaws in history. Think along the lines of Jesse James and Billy the Kid. Your symbols cowboy hats, sheriff badges, cowboy boots, gun holsters, and some alcohol. The images are well-drawn. However, there is one thing we do not like about the game.
This is the sound. It is repetitive. It is only a ten-second loop. Every ten seconds, you will be greeted by a whistle, some tumbleweed, and a dog barking. Thankfully, NetEnt has been kind enough to include a mute button so you do not have to put up with it for too long!
There is not a whole lot that you are going to need to do. When you hop into the game, it is a case of setting your win lines (conveniently marked down the side so you know what you are betting on) and the amount that you want to play. Then it is a case of hitting that spin button. Most of your time is going to be spent in the base game anyway with just a light dabble into the bonus rounds.
Bonus Rounds & In-Game Features
Dead or Alive Slot offers a few good features, but first and foremost must be regarded as a high variance slot. This basically means that wins might not come too often, but when they do, they are big! Aside from that, there is just one bonus round in the game. It comes in the form of a free spins feature (we genuinely love those!):
In order to trigger the free spins feature, you will need to get three or more gun symbols on the reels at the same time. Straight away, you will be given a cash prize.
This cash prize will be dependent on the number of gun symbols you had on the screen. In addition to this cash prize, you will be awarded 12 free spins. In these spins, you will get a 2x multiplier. So, all of your wins are going to be doubled! (this is why we love free spins, it is basically like free money!)
During your free spins, you can trigger the Sticky Wild feature. This comes in the form of a Wanted Poster. If you get a Wanted Poster, then it will stay in place for the duration of your free spins. If you get 1 or more of these sticky wilds, then you will get an additional 5 free spins!
Dead or Alive Mobile Slot Machine
Sadly, as brilliant as the slot machine is, it is not yet available to play on mobile devices. From the information that we have, it is unlikely that it is going to be available any time soon either!
This is a great shame because we have genuinely fallen in love with the game and would love to play it ‘on the go’. Guess you can’t have everything that you want, however.
Summary – What Do We Think?
The Dead or Alive slot machine is one of the older slot machines out there. This means that you can’t expect it to be packed to the brim with advanced features. However, it is a classic, and there is a reason why it is a classic. It is fun to play. Each and every spin gives you the opportunity to win.
You feel like the potential to win is there too. This is because that cash is going to come through thick and fast. Basically, when you play this game you are going to be hooked. As long as you hit that mute button, this is one of the best ‘simple’ games that you are going to have the pleasure of jumping into!
You can play the Dead or Alive slot machine on any website which offers NetEnt games, but check out our top recommended casino sites below, each of which will offer you the best casino bonuses, free spins and the best all round online casino experience!
